VALENTIN TOLEDO
Valentin Toledo Biography
Valentín Toledo was born in Seville, Spain and he spent several years in Barcelona, Spain before finding himself drawn to Madrid. He now makes Los Angeles, California his home.
He’s worked for important European magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, and Elle, among others. In 1988 he was awarded the LAUS prize for outstanding achievement in illustration for his work as an illustrator for the Barcelona Sunday supplement, La Vanguardia-Mujer. He worked in Madrid as an Art Director for ad agencies and magazines.
He designed, and for several years acted as Art Director, for Paisajes magazine of the Spanish bullet train AVE. In 1991 he worked for Tiffany’s in New York and for the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism. He worked as a travel photographer different publishers, most recently for the award-winning travel magazine, Lunas de Miel.
In 1993 he received an award from the French Ministry of Tourism for his photographic article on Brittany, published in Gente y Viajes. The Japanese design magazine, Brutus, published his art among that of other representatives of the “movida madrileña.”
He recently published a book of photographs on the United States titled USA, distributed exclusively in museums throughout Europe and Asia.
